• Harrison Gilliland

    Harrison Gilliland is a born entrepreneur with “oil in his blood.” A fourth-generation resident of Plainville, Kansas, Harrison grew up visiting oil production sites with his father and grandfather. He started HG Oil Holdings in 2020 after recognizing the opportunity to participate in the generational transfer of oil properties likely to coincide with the recovery of pricing following the Covid shutdowns. This is by design after using the same model he proved to be successful in his first of size ventures, HG AG Holdings. At its current pace of growth, HG Oil likely to be among the top 10 Kansas oil operators by the end of 2026. Harrison’s responsibilities include sourcing new deals, organizing financing, and recruiting the talent that keeps HG Oil moving forward.

  • Lanny Butner

    Lanny Butner is HG Oil’s resident petroleum engineer. His deep experience includes time spent with Atlantic Richfield, Ladd Petroleum, and Murfin Companies. He has worked as the principal of Lanny Butner & Associates since 1993, where on the operations side he has specialized in producing properties in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas, and on the finance side, he is often hired to evaluate producing property packages for acquisition, estate planning and divestiture. Lanny has a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas, and an MBA from Wichita State University.

  • Logan Behr

    Logan is HG Oil Holding’s contracted production manager for the Central & Western part of Kansas. He has obtained his experience from managing New Age Oil, LLC’s production, which he continues to manage in the North Central portion of Kansas. Logan has also obtained experience in his time in the Permian Basin doing wellsite work for companies such as WPX Energy, NGL Water Solutions, & Jagged Peak Energy. Logan has a B.S. in Petroleum Geology from Fort Hays State University, where he also minored in Business Management.

  • Tyler Bell

    I was in United States Navy, I spent 4 years most of which was working on the Aircraft Carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN77) as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician. Did a few short tours on the USS George Washington and USS Truman as well. Afterwards moved home to Kansas and started working in the oilfield and attended Pratt Community College. Over a span of 12+ years spent time at Sterling Drilling as Chain/Derrick hand, Hummon Corporation in Kansas as Foreman and Production Administrator, and Siena Natural resources in Kansas and Oklahoma as Pumper and Foreman. I am as of August 2023 a Pumper and Foreman with HG Oil Holdings.

  • Jason Bethel

    Closing in on 30 years in the oil ad gas industry, Jason brings years of hands-on experience across the board. Starting his career directly out of high school working floors on a pulling unit gave him the perspective of the hard, dirty work. He brings knowledge in downhole pumps and progressive cavity pumps from service work in the supply store. Jason has been a lease pumper for several years, known in the area as being very detail oriented and for performing his own roustabout work. More recently, he has been proudly working on production growth. Jason and his family enjoy the great outdoors, all things sports, and working their cattle and farmland.

  • James "Boomer" Pommerehn

    Started in the oilfield on a Drilling Rig in 1976, became driller after 3 years until the end of 1980 and started with Baker Service Tools where I acquired certification in Advanced Downhole Hydraulics, was with Baker 10 years until slump in late 80’s. Started running tools for Xpert Service Tools then to Noble Energy as a Production Foreman in 2006 until they sold Kansas in 2012, after that I was a Production Superintendent for Samuel Gary Jr. and Associates. I am now enjoying employment with HG Oil Holdings.
